Publicly Funded Healthcare System

One of the core pillars of Canada's identity is the privilege of providing all Canadian citizens with free access to healthcare. Through the Canada Health Act of 1984, federal legislation provides all Canadian citizens with healthcare that is Comprehensive, Accessible, Portable, Universal, and Publicly Administered. In other words, each citizen is entitled to the same level of healthcare, across all provinces of Canada, regardless of their race, religion, culture, or ability to pay. The government also strives to provide healthcare of the highest quality of care, making it safe, effective, and efficient for patients
